** Architectural Assistantship   (Integrated training programme of 3 years - 2 years basic & 10 months of Advanced skill training):--  

Objective of the course - The course has been designed to provide trainees the necessary Knowledge & skills so that they are able to seek employment as senior grade Architectural Draughtsmen or Architectural Assistant in Architect’s Office.  

  

Trainee Entry level - Candidates pass in Matriculation or 10th class examination of 10+2 system or equivalent are eligible for admission to the 2 year basic skill programme in Architectural Draughtsmanship course.  On successful completion of the 2 year basic training, the trainee is admitted to the advanced skill training programme.  

Course Duration - Two year full time basic course followed by 10 months of advanced skill programme.  

Course Contents :- The course coverage includes Architectural Design. Building Construction; Computer Aided Drafting; Architectural Model making and the theory of Structures.  This is a composite training programme which includes two months of on-the-job training.  

Trainee Exit Level :- On completion of the course, the trainees are expected to be able to  

  • Make designs of residential buildings;
  • Draw plan, elevation, section views in pencil & ink of a residential building;
  • Draw interior layout of different spaces with colour schemes;
  • Draw complete construction details of a building;
  • Know about structure of column, beam, RCC, slab, lintel, riveted, welded connections;
  • prepare models of a residential building;
  • Use personal computer, CAD system, input & output devices;
  • Draw 2D Architectural drawings by use of CAD system.

The workshop, developed for this course, is equipped with special CAD system and the required tools & equipment.
