MODEL INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INSTITUTE, JODHPUR

The Government of India established Model Industrial Training Institute, Jodhpur in 1982-83. The institute is temporarily housed in accomodation provided by the Govt. of Rajasthan in the permises of the ITI  Jodhpur  to impart  restructured pattern of Craftsmen Training Programme in the Heat Engine  Group of Trades   . The duration of the training is 2 years and the training consist of two parts i.e.  Broad Based Basic Training in first  year   and Modular Training consisting of one or more specialized modules in the second year , both of which are terminal in nature .

Broad Based Basic Training (B.B.B.T.):    This  basic training in Heat Engine Group of Trades comprising of eight skill areas ( Six Week duration each ) namely 1) Basic Fitting , 2) Measurement 3) Sheet Metal ,  Hand Forging & Welding , 4) Basic Electricity 5) Petrol Engines , 6) Diesel Engines 7)Suspension , Steering & Brakes, 8) Transmission System

   At the end of first year basic training there would be all India Trade Test conducted by National Council for Vocational training.  Certificate of Basic Training  would be awarded to successful trainees. Those who complete the basic training successfully may opt for any of the following :-

a) Work as an operator in an industry;

b) Entrepreneurship training in order to be self employed.

c) Join the industry as a trade apprentice under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

d) Undergo further training in one or two following  modules in training institutes during the second year of training;

1. Diesel Group : 

i. Servicing and Overhauling of Diesel Engines ( Trg. period-Six month)

ii. Servicing and Maintenance of Diesel Generating sets(Trg. Period -six months)

2.Auto Group

i. Auto Electrician (Trg. period 6 months)

ii. Servicing and overhauling of  Automobiles Engines ( Trg period- 6 months) 

An  all India trade test is conducted in the special module and a certificate of proficiency is awarded to the successful trainees of the the institute which is a recognised qualification  by Govt. of India for the purpose  of recruitment to the subordinate service and post for which National Trade Certificate awarded  by NCVT is recognised qualification.

ENTRY QUALIFICATION :Matriculation with Science & Mathematics as subjects .

Age : 14 to 25 years ( Upper age limit relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates)

Session : September to August 

Mode of selection : Application are invited for admission after releasing an  advertisement notice in the Employment News Paper . Application in the prescribed proforma may be sent to the principal  along with  prescribed application & registration fee . Selection is done purely on the basis of the marks obtain in matriculation or equivalent examination .

Tuition Fee : Rs.20/- per month . In addition, the trainee has to deposit caution money of Rs.50/- which is refundable at successful completion of training . No tuition fee shall be charged from the SC/ST and physically handicapped trainees.

Registration fee - Rs. 10/-

Application form fee- Rs. 5/- per form

Reservation- Seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates as per Govt. rules . Some seats are reserved for physically handicapped candidates who have aptitude and are otherwise fit to undergo such training.
