MODEL INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INSTITUTE CHOUDWAR, ORISSA CUTTACK.

    Model Industrial Training Institute, Choudwar, Orissa  has been set up in July, 1982 to conduct  basic as well as modular training courses  in the mechanical group of trades  under the restructured pattern of Craftsmen Training Programme  . The institute is located about 18 kms from  Railway Station, Cuttack . It is functioning at Choudwar in a  building  provided by Govt. of Orissa on the  National Highway No.42  and is well connected by Bus, taxi etc.  available from Cuttack. The duration of the training is 2 years and the training consist of two parts i.e.  Broad Based Basic Training in first  year   and Modular Training consisting of one or more specialized modules in the second year , both of which are terminal in nature .

Broad Based Basic Training (B.B.B.T.):    The  course is designed to develop Broad Base  covering the mechanical group of trades so as to enable the trainees to acquire multiskill of varied nature within the trade group 

Eight skill areas (each of six weeks duration )   Milling , Welding , Grinding , Shaping/Slotting , Turning , Sheet Metal Working , Fitting , Basic Electricity :

   Trade Test is   conducted by National Council for Vocational Training   at the end of first year basic training   and successful trainees are awarded Certificates of Basic Training . Those who complete the basic training successfully may opt for any of the following options :-

a) Work as an operator in an industry;

b) Entrepreneurship training in order to be self employed.

c) Join the industry as a trade apprentice under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

d) Undergo further training in one or two of  the following modules in this institutes during the second year of training;

1. Fitting General - Six months duration

2. Module of Metrology & Engineering Inspection - Six months duration 

   All India Trade Test  is conducted  under the aegis of  NCVT at the end of second year of modular training and successful candidates are awarded certificates for ???/the specific modules.   These certificates are recognised by Government of India for the purpose of recruitment to subordinate services and posts for which National Trade Certificate is a recognised qualification.

Entry Qualification : Passed Matriculation or its equivalent examination with Science & Mathematics.

Age : 14 to 25 years

Session : September to August 

Mode of selection : Application are invited for admission after releasing an  advertisement notice in the Employment News Paper . Application in the prescribed proforma may be sent to the principal  along with  prescribed application & registration fee . Selection is done purely on the basis of the marks obtain in matriculation or equivalent examination .

Tuition Fee : Rs.20/- per month . In addition, the trainee has to deposit caution money of Rs.50/- which is refundable at successful completion of training . No tuition fee is charged from the SC/ST and physically handicapped trainees.

Registration Fee - Rs 10/-

Application Form Fee - Rs 5/- per form

Reservation- Seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates as per Govt. rules . Some seats are reserved for physically handicapped candidates who have aptitude and are otherwise fit to undergo such training.
