Training Courses

There are two types of training courses , conducted under the Project.

Courses are :

  1. Population Education in Vocational Training Programme.
  2. Participatory Techniques and Communication Skills.

Population Education in Vocational Training Programme

The training course on Population Education in Vocational Training Programme is of six days duration. During the training courses, instructors of ITIs are imparted training on Population Education related issues as per the Training Manual developed for the Instructors of ITIs. They have also conducted mock sessions during the training courses in order to improve their lecture delivery skills. These instructors, in turn, transfer the knowledge to the trainees of ITIs in regular classes under the Subject Social Studies. The services of the experienced resource persons are utilised for delivering sessions.

Participatory Techniques and Communication Skills

The training course on Participatory Techniques and Communication Skills (PTCS) has been designed with a objective to remove inhibitions & improve inter-personal communication skills of the instructors of ITIs which may help them while taking sessions on sexuality and other sensitive topics in their regular classes. The duration of training course on PTCS is three days. The instructors who are trained on Population Education with UNFPA assistance are eligible to attend the training courses. The training course on PTCS has not been envisaged in the Project Document. A Manual n Participatory Techniques and Communication Skills for Instructors of ITIs has been developed and is used while providing training to the instructors of ITIs. The topics taught them are Communication skills, Participatory Training  Techniques, Teaching Learning Aids & Enhancing Participatory Training Techniques.
