All India (C.B.S.E.) Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination

The Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.), New Delhi conducts All India Entrance Examination for admission to 15% seats in Dental Colleges run by Government Municipal and local authorities except the states of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.

Eligibility :	Indian Nationals of 17 years of age on December 31 of the years of admission.
Qualification:	12 years Senior Secondary Examination with 50% (40 % for Scheduled Castes/Tribes) aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together or B.Sc. with any two subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) with 50% marks and Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English passed at Higher Secondary. Candidates who have appeared at the qualifying examination are also eligible. Candidates should be medically fit.
Application Procedure:	Application form and Bulletin of Information can be obtained on Cash payment of Rs.10 from the notified branches of Canara Bank of CBSE Regional offices at (i) Todar Mal Marg, Ajmer-305001, (ii) 1/1 Neem Sarai Transport Nagar, Akram Building, Allahabad-211001, (iii) State Institute of Education Building, Sector–32, Chandigarh-160031. (iv) Rajgarh Road, Rajgarh Tinali, Guwahati-781003, (v) 11, Lake Area, Nungambakkam, Madras-600034. The form can also be obtained by post from the All India Pre-medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination Unit, CBSE, 17B, Indraprastha Estaste, New Delhi –110002, by remitting bank draft of Rs.22 along with a self-addressed envelope of 12”X10” completed application along with the examination fee of Rs,.100 (Rs.25 for Scheduled Castes/Tribes) through bank-draft should reach the CBSE by registered post by the notified date.
Entrance Examination :	The examination consists of two papers one in Physics & Chemistry, and Botany & Zoology. The questions are of objective type with negative marks for incorrect response. The medium of examination is Hindi and English. The Centres of the examination are Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Delhi, Guwahati, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Lucknow, Chennai, Nagpur, Port-Blair, Patna, Panaji, Pondicherry, Shimla, Shillong and Thiruvananthapuram. The CBSE forwards a copy of the merit list to the Director General of Health Services who allocates the seats at Dental Colleges.

All India Entrance for PG seats in Medical Colleges

This examination is conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in January/February at 26 different centers all over the country for admission to 25% of seats for post graduate courses in all Dental Colleges run by the Central/State Governments, Municipal or other local authorities except the States of Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, A.I.I.M.S., PGI Chandigarh and private medical colleges.

ANDHRA PRADESH

Admission to B.D.S. (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) in the State is made through Engineering, Agricultural, Medical & Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (EAMCET). This test is conducted by one of the State Universities.

Domicile:	India nationals of Andhra Pradesh, candidates who have resided in the State for ten years excluding periods of study outside the state; candidates either of whose parents/spouses of those in State/Central, Public Sector, Local Bodies, Universities employment within the State at the time of application.

Selection	Candidates are ranked in order of merit in EAMCET. Test is conducted at Anantapur, Bhimavaram, Cuddapah, Guntur, Hyderabad, Kakinada, Kurnool, Machilipatanam, Nellore, Nizamabad, Rajahmundry, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Warangal.
	The question papers are set in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics and are of objective type of Intermediate Standard.

ASSAM

Admission to first year BDS Course is made through State level selection Board. This course is available at :Regional Dental College, Guwahati-781032.

Allocation of Seats	Scheduled Castes –1 seat, Scheduled Tribes –3 seats (Plains –2, Hills-1) OBC including MOBC-2 seats, children of Tea Garden/Ex-tea garden communities/Tribes-1 seat, Children of ex-servicemen/Defence Personnel-1 seat, Children or Brothers/Sisters of Martyrs of Assam Movement-2 seats, General-5 seats.
Eligibility	Age: 17-24 years (27 years for scheduled castes/Tribes) as on Ist December of the years of admission.
	Qualification: 12 years Higher Secondary science examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with 50%(40% for Scheduled Castes/Tribes) aggregate marks.
	Domicile: Indian nationals, natives and permanent residents of Assam, Candidates should have studied for 2 years in a state institution preceding the date of application.

BIHAR

In Bihar Medical and Dental Admission Test (MDAT) is conducted for admission to first year BDS in the following Dental colleges.

Domicile	Citizens of India, candidates whose father/Mother have been residents of Bihar for 10 years, sons/daughters of Central Govt. employees serving in the State at the time of application. Sons/daughters of State employees/Member of All India Services on Bihar Cadre, candidates whose parents are not alive may apply with 10 years residence certificate from DM.

Applications are required to be sent by registered post only. Completed applications along with the bank draft of Rs.100and Self-addressed stamped Rs.7 envelope of 9”X4” should be submitted to the principal of the college according to the district where the candidate has passed the qualifying examination.
Selection	Selection is made on the basis of merit in the test. This test is of Intermediate Standard. The questions in the test are of objective type in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

This Institute also has the facility for 2 years BDS (condensed) course for MBBSDegree holders.

The University of Delhi holds Entrance Examination for admission to BDS, Government of India nominees and children/widows of Armed Personnel disabled or killed in action are exempted from Entrance Examination.

Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi-11002.

Qualification	12 years Senior Secondary under 10+2 system conducted by CBSE. New Delhj with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with 50% aggregate marks in these subjects from the recognized schools conducting regular classes situated within the Union Territory of Delhi.

(Sons and daughters of All India Service Officers allotted to Gujarat State and Sons and daughters of State Govt. employees who have been posted outside the State are exempted).
