Long term and short Term
training courses are
regularly conducted in the field of Mechanical,
Electrical, Electronics, Computer and Agricultural Engineering in the
Institute. A part from above Special training Courses under tailor made Courses are also conducted. Most of the faculty
members who conduct the courses are Trained in India and Abroad.
a)
Craftsman Instructor Training Scheme (CITS)
Under
the CITS scheme Instructor course in modular pattern is conducted vide
DGET-19(14)/2008-CD dtd. 9th July 2009 instructions. The one year courses has
been divided into 4 modules whose details are given below. Trainees have to
pass all the four
modules to get the instructor course certificate. Trainees can
pass any module from any DGET training institute existing in country. The Instructor course is an essential
qualification to become an
instructor.

dtd. 9th July
2009 instructions
As per latest
recommendations of NCVT (National Council of Vocational Training) one year

Training course has been converted to Modular pattern of Instructor Training
Course and has
been introduced w.e.f. August, 2009 onwards at all
Training Institutes of
DGE&T for Engineering trades.
1. For
this purpose, the academic session (August to July) will be divided into four
quarters as under:-

2. There
will be four modules each of three months duration namely –
1.
Training Methodology (TM) – common for
all trades
2.
Engineering Technology (ET) - common for some
trades so it is grouped for similar trades as detailed in Annexure. I
3.
Trade Technology I (TT-I) is trade
specific.
4.
Trade Technology II (TT-II) is trade
specific.
3. The
batch size of the modules will be as under:-
1.
Training Methodology maximum intake

An eligible trainee will have option
to undergo training in any module, in any institute, conducting Modular Pattern of Craft
Instructor Training as per NCVT norms and standards. Similarly, sponsoring
organizations will have option to depute their candidates in any module, in any
institute as per their requirement. State Governments may depute their
participants on module basis instead of one full year as per their convenience.
By doing so, the output at ITI level will not be affected. State Governments
may also take advantage of deputing their participants in common modules to
nearby institutes. Other stakeholders such as ITCs, Industrial Houses having
requirement of instructors may take advantage of the new flexible system and
depute their participants in any module in any institute of their choice.
6.
NCVT will conduct examination for all
modules at the end of each quarter. Successful candidates will be awarded
certificates from the institute for each module. Such certificates may be
issued under the signature of the Head of the institute. Craft Instructor

All the modules to have equal full
marks i.e. 300 thus the total marks will be 4x300 =1200 for all the four
modules of Craft Instructor Training Course.
Sessional marks will be limited to maximum 20%
on all subjects. Pass marks of each subject will be 60% of the full marks. The
detail distribution of marks is given in Annexure-III
(A) & (B).
b)
Craftsman training Scheme ( CTS)
Under this scheme the course
is designed to produce the Technician for the Industries at the National level. In short the objective of this course is to
produce the High quality Working Staff needed for Indian Industries other
establishment etc. Courses framed by National council of vocational
training ( NCVT) of one year, two year
are conducted in this institute in following trades. These courses are popular by name of
